Tyrantula is a monster and boss in Dragon Quest IX.

Characteristics

Tyrantula is an enormous female spider that hangs from a thread on the cave's ceiling. She has a disturbing skull-shaped head that faces towards her opponents and her various limbs look like bones. Her thorax and abdomen is mainly orange and brown with dark purple spikes. She has a pair of sharp legs shaped like scythes and she can expel poisonous rounds, as well as entrap her victims with her webs. Her name is a combination of the words "tyrant" and "tarantula", a type of spider.
