Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation[edit | edit source]
The Boxer shorts have a Defense bonus of +10 and can be worn by male Warriors, Priests, Thieves, Merchants, and Gadabouts. Some pairs can be found in Khoryv in the item shop behind a door locked by the Thief's Key, a dresser in Isis, and a dresser in Tantegel Castle. They can be sold for 90 gold coins. The boxer shorts only appear in remakes of the game.

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen[edit | edit source]
The Boxer shorts have a Defense bonus of +8 and can only be equipped by Ragnar, Borya, and Torneko. Some pairs can be found at Shinnock and Porthrunnel, while another can be found in a dresser in the Fungeon. One pair can be received as a prize for defeating Chow Mein and Foo Yung within 20 turns. If appraised by Torneko, he mentions that they look like they breathe nicely. Boxer shorts only appear in remakes of the game.
Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride[edit | edit source]
The Boxer shorts have a Defence bonus of +15 and can only be equipped by Sancho, Slime, Healslime, Metal slime, Liquid metal slime, Cureslime, King slime, King cureslime, Man o' war, Slime knight, Restless armour, Blizzybody, Warhog, Moosifer, Pip fighter, and Conkuistador. Some pairs can be found in Lodestar Harbour, Helmunaptra, and Gotha Castle. They can also be purchased on the Faerie Lea T'N'T board for 10 gold and sold for 5 gold.
Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation[edit | edit source]
The Boxer shorts have a Defense bonus of +10, reduces the wearer's Style by 100, and can be equipped by the Hero, Carver, Nevan, Amos, Goober, Healie, Spot, Kingsley, Curie, Shelley, and Mercury. One pair can be found at Somnia of the Upper World and another in a wardrobe at Pescado. They cannot be purchased anywhere, but can be sold for 75 gold. Boxer shorts can be dropped by Scytheborgs, as well as Bigg & Liddle at the hut north of Wellshire.
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit | edit source]
The Boxer shorts have a Defence bonus of +8 (+5 in the Nintendo 3DS version), but they decrease Style by 100 points. They can be equipped by the Hero, Kiefer, Ruff, and Sir Mervyn. If appraised, it is mentioned that they seem to be a bit stained. One pair can be found in Emberdale in the present near the town's hot springs. Boxer shorts can be dropped by Wooden horsemen and Lesser demons. If equipped with the Pot lid, they provide a Style bonus of +30 when being graded for the Best Dressed contest of the Excellence Grading Organisation.

The Boxer shorts have a Defence bonus of +8 and can only be equipped by Yangus. Oddly enough, they cannot be worn by Morrie in the Nintendo 3DS version. They cannot be purchased anywhere, but can be sold for 50 gold. One pair can be found in a treasure chest in the Farebury Region and another in a bag at Pickham. Dancing devils have a 1⁄64 chance of dropping them. They can be made in the Alchemy Pot and can be mixed to create other pieces of clothing.
