Poison Attack is a recurring ability in the Dragon Quest series. It launches a melee attack that may poison the target. Monsters first gained the ability to inflict poison with their normal attacks in Dragon Quest II, eventually becoming its own skill in Dragon Quest V.

Appearances

Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line

Poison Attack can be used by Bubble slimes, Cobra kaisers, Cobra kings, Gnashturtiums, Killipedes, Merluscs (NES version only), Sentripedes, and Walking corpses. Their attacks have a 25% chance of poisoning a character.

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation

Poison Attack can be used by Betterflies, Bubble slimes, Toxic toads, and Toxic zombies.

Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen

Poison Attack can be used by Bodkin fletchers, Bubble slimes, Crested vipers, Funghouls, Horny devils, and Wyverns.

Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride

Poison Attack is learned by the Funghoul at Level 7. It does not cost MP to use.
