The '''hardy hand''' is a silvery counterpart of the [[muddy hand]] {{MFamilies}}, which has preserved its putrefaction for posterity in a liquid metal coating.
The '''Hardy hand''' is a monster in the series.

Debuting in the {{Game Boy Color}} port of {{Dragon Quest III}}, it is one of the few bonus {{Monsters}} from that version of the game to be added to later titles.

Hardy hands are appendages made from a silvery metallic sludge that crawl out of the ground. They have the same properties as [[Metal slime family|metal slimes]], being incredibly agile and impervious to nearly all forms of damage and status ailment, along with rewarding any that manage to defeat them with large amounts of experience. Like muddy hands, they will call for backup from more of their kind, but are just as likely to flee from battle, as well. They have some skill with magic, being able to cast either high-level fire or instant death spells to dispatch adventurers.
