The Wickerman is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride.
It is an animated candle with a ghastly green flame. Its name is a play on the term "wicker man" and the wicks on top of their head.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
Wickermen are anthropomorphic candles made of purple wax that are lit with a green flame on top of their heads. They have a look of mischief on their faces and wield wicked sharp knives in their hands, which they are known to drop after battle. The candles are able to utilize the flame on their head to cast simple fire magic at their opponents.

Dragon Quest Tact[edit | edit source]
Wickerman appears as a C-rank monster of the Inorganic family as part of the limited Dragon Quest V event. It can be recruited from Upper Level West of the Knightmare Towers at any difficulty, eventually becoming recruitable in the second part of the storyline in Chapter 2, Episode 2: We're Here! The wickerman can participate in Kon the Knight and Wax murderer's Battle Roads as a party member.

Etymology[edit | edit source]
A wicker man is a giant effigy of a man that was allegedly used by druids of the Celtic people in human and animal sacrifice. They are also used in modern times by neopagans without human or animal sacrifices and burned at festivals and ceremonies.
