The swingin' hipster is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest VIII. It is a high-ranking demon with a long spiked tail that can send out curses from their fingers.

Characteristics

Swingin' hipsters are flamboyant demons that have the appearance of men with jaundiced yellow skin, a pair of red wings on their back, and skintight green outfits that cover their lower bodies, including their long tails that end in wicked sharp spikes. They have slicked back, spiky blue hair, long pointed ears, and spikes on their shoulders and lower backs. In battle, they always have their backs towards their enemies while their cruel faces are turned around to face their opponents. Like their red cousins, the swingin' hipsters are able to spin around violently and swing their spiked tails at enemies, although theirs is not as strong as the redtail hipster. With nothing more than a point of their long cruel fingers, the demons are able to place vile curses on adventurers, as well.
