Appearances[edit | edit source]
Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake[edit | edit source]
Fog of War is learned by Monster Wranglers once 100 monsters have been rescued. It costs 11 MP to use and will void all buffs, debuffs, and status ailments for every party member and monster in battle for three turns. It also casts Fizzle on everyone who is not immune for 3 turns. On the enemy side, it can be used by Armfuls, King Hydra, and Grand Dragon.

Dragon Quest Monsters[edit | edit source]
Known as ThickFog in this game, it costs 8 MP to use and can be learned by Catapila, GateGuards, MadSpirits, Shadows, and WhipBirds once they reach Level 22 and have 120 max MP, 60 ATK, and 160 INT. The effect can only be disabled with DeMagic. The game's AI is set to only use the skill if the enemy has an attack spell.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The term fog of war refers to the situational uncertainty experienced by combatants in military operations. In the video game, it is also the name for the common Strategy RPG mechanic in which the field map is obscured until the player's units explore beyond their base's range.
- The name Lingering Malhaze is a play on the term "lingering malaise".
