The Edged boomerang is a boomerang in the series.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
A boomerang made out of metal, with both of its ends sharpened into blades.
- The original design from Dragon Quest V is made entirely of a dark metal. Starting from Dragon Quest VII, the boomerang is made of a lighter, silvery metal.
- The edged boomerang from Dragon Quest VIII is still made from a silvery metal, but now has asymmetrical blades and has a handle in the center with red cloth as a grip.

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation[edit | edit source]
The Edged boomerang has an Attack bonus of +24 and can be equipped by the Hero, Mages, Merchants, Gadabouts, and Thieves. It can be obtained by turning in 20 Mini Medals to the medal collector in Aliahan and can be sold for 900 gold coins, but item collectors may not wish to do so since only one can be acquired in the game.
- In the mobile and Nintendo Switch versions, it now only requires 15 mini medals to receive the edged boomerang.

The Edged boomerang has an Attack bonus of +25 and can be equipped by the Hero, the Son, Slime, Healslime, Metal slime, Liquid metal slime, Cureslime, King slime, King cureslime, Man o' war, Dracky, Fat rat, Fandangow, Ticking timeburrm, Funghoul, Grudgerigar, Pocus poppet, Chimaera, Snowbird, Powie yowie, Cross eye, Flamethrower, Minidemon, Hellion, and Beastmaster. It can be purchased for 1,500 gold from Roundbeck, Lodestar Harbor, Gothan, and Fortuna, and sold for 1,125 gold.
- In the remakes, it is only sold for 750 gold.
Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation[edit | edit source]
The Edged boomerang has an Attack bonus of +25, a Style bonus of +19, and can be equipped by the Hero, Terry, Amos, Goober, Healie, Spot, Kingsley, Curie, Shelley, and Mercury. It can be purchased for 1,500 gold at Somnian, Amor, Scrimsley, Aridea, and Turnscote and sold for 1,125 gold. Additionally, it is the award presented to those who complete the G rank of Slimopolis.
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit | edit source]
The Edged boomerang has an Attack bonus of +26, a Style bonus of +19, and can be equipped by the Hero and Ruff. It can be purchased for 2,300 gold at Greenthumb Gardens and Pilgrim's Rest in the past, Alltrades Abbey, and the Temple Palace, Gröndal, and El Magnífico Puente de Pomposo in the present. One can be found in a treasure chest on 3F of Ventus Tower.
- In the Nintendo 3DS version, an edged boomerang can be received as a reward for clearing a custom Traveller's Tablet with a Swinoceros or Sharphooter as a boss.
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined[edit | edit source]

The Edged boomerang has an Attack bonus of +26 and can be equipped by the Hero and Ruff. It can be purchased for 3,000 gold from Pilgrim's Rest in the past and Alltrades Abbey and sold for 1,500 gold. One can be found in a treasure chest at Faraday Castle in the past. Edged boomerang is a 3♦ prize from the Lucky Panel at Pilgrim's Rest in the past and a 2♦ prize in the present.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King[edit | edit source]
The Edged boomerang has an Attack bonus of +27 and can be equipped by the Hero, as well as Morrie in the Nintendo 3DS version. It can be purchased for 1,360 gold in Ascantha and Neos and sold for 680 gold. One can be found in a treasure chest at Orkutsk that requires the Thief's key to open. It has a 1⁄64 chance of being dropped by Crayzee and a 1⁄128 chance of being dropped by Dark star. The edged boomerang can be mixed with other items in the Alchemy Pot.
