Dragon (race)

The Dragon Tribe (竜族, ryūzoku) is a non-playable race in Astoltia, introduced in the second expansion of Dragon Quest X . The fan-tanslation calls them "Nadravians".

The existance of a dragon-adjacent race was already established in the base version of Dragon Quest X -they are mentioned the murals that can be read in the prologue-, but they did not fully appear until the later half of the first expansion, when the protagonist visits their hidden town in the mountains.

The dragon people take the spot in Version 3, when the player's character visits their homeland in Nadragand (ナドラガンド) and help them connect the realms while fighting against the "Evil Will" that threatens not only Nadragand, but the whole world of Astoltia.

Characteristics and culture

The members of the dragon tribes are reptile-like humanoids with pink to blue pigmented skin, scales, pointed ears and horns on their head. They generally have serpent-like eyes, though some of them feature normal irises like humans. The most powerful of them can transform into a full dragon.

Unlike humans, they can live in very harsh environments, from valleys of fire, to frozen-solid lands, dark caves with very little light, to underwater cities, and lands ravaged by storms.
