The Bad apple is a monster in the series.

Characteristics

Bad apples are cyclopean monsters with the appearance of a green apple, having a large mouth filled with razor-sharp fangs. It is known to put adventurers to sleep with its magic or with its attacks. Its description in Dragon Quest Monsters states that it feeds on other monsters in order to fuel its evil powers. Their English name is a reference to the proverb "one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch", referring to a person who is untrustworthy or not wholesome, whose words or actions can have a negative influence on others.
