The guide for sewing the scarf is the King of the Swindlers book, which is found in the depths of the Heliodor prison behind a door that requires the ultimate key to open. It is unknown how the Heliodorian authorities found the book, but it was assuredly locked away to crack down on crime.
When Erik wears the scarf along with the swindler king's stole, his appearance will change and he will be granted the accolade of The Swindler King.
