This article is about player customization at a dressing table in Dragon Quest Builders 2.. For descriptions of equippable equipment, see List of battle equipment in Dragon Quest Builders 2.

This page details the character customization available in Dragon Quest Builders 2.

The player can freely choose their gender (which reflects in certain dialogue changes), as well as their hair and eye color and their skin tone. These parameters can be customized at the start of the game, as well as at will on any dressing table. Dressing tables are naturally unlocked in Khrumbul-Dun; however, one can be accessed as soon as the first time setting foot on the Isle of Awakening. It is located in a decaying house between the Green Gardens and the Scarlet Sands.

Using a dressing table allows not only to alter the body of the Builder, but also alter the appearance of the equipped hammer, sword, outfit, shield, and even headgear or hairstyle. Additionally, the Builder can wear up to three accessories at a time.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • The Historic Hairband and the Historic Hammer customization options require having a Dragon Quest Builders save file for PS4 and Switch players. They are freely available to PC and Xbox players.
  • The Designer's Sunglasses are only available to those who buy the Season Pass on PS4 and Switch. They are included in the PC and Xbox versions.
  • The Dragon Quest Builders 2 DLCs offer new customisation options. Since the DLC is included directly on the PC and Xbox versions, these outfits and hairstyles are freely available to players on these platforms.
    • The Chic Swimsuit outfit, along with the Straw Hat, Hipster Ponytail, Pretty Ponytail, and Thug’s Mug headgear/hairstyles are included in the Aquarium DLC.
    • The Fancy Formalwear outfit, along with the Dandy Do and Wavy Locks hairstyles are included in the Modernist DLC.
  • The Bonny Bob Cut, Fashionable Flick, Lopsided Ponytail, Impressive Tresses, Backcombed Cut, Mussed Mop, Curly Quiff, and Classic Curtains hairstyles can be unlocked after finishing 45 Tablet Targets on the Isle of Awakening.
    • The former four hairstyles are for female builders only, while the latter four are exclusive to male builders. These gender-locked hairstyles are also reflected in in-game NPCs.
  • The Historic Headband's color changes depending on the outfit the builder wears.
    • In the same vein, the female builder's hair ribbons also change color depending on the outfit.
  • The positions of the Bow and Red Rose accessories change depending on the headgear/hairstyle of the builder.
  • Weapon aesthetic customization has no bearing on attack pattern; the Builder's attack pattern will remain the same as the currently equipped weapon's style.
