The metal slime knight (originally MetlRider / Metal Rider due to display constraints) is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series. Introduced in Dragon Quest V, it is a metallic variant of the slime knight monster.

Characteristics

Metal slime knights look just like slime knights beyond color changes. One could say that the color of the knight and the slime have been switched around, with the slime being gray and the knight being green.

Although they are indicated as being metal monsters, metal slime knights are more metal in name than anything else. They lack the monstrous defenses, speed, resistances, and experience points typical of metal monsters.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker

Metal slime knights can be found on Infern Isle. It is wise to scout them when first possible, as in-game events will later alter the island and prevent metal slime knights from appearing.

Trivia

  • Unlike other metal slime monsters, they don't give a tremendous amount of experience points. This is noted in their Dragon Quest IX bestiary entries, which state that their metal slime mounts were only captured because they were the "least experienced".
