The Hades' condor is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest III.
Characteristics
Hades' condors are large birds of prey with purple and white plumage and a huge pair of sharp talons. In their original appearance, they has a tendency to send party members back to Patty's Party Planning Place by using the Bazoom (or Blasto) spell, forcing the player to go all the way back to Aliahan to retrieve their lost party member(s) (assuming they even know to look there - which many first time players may not), making it a very irritating foe.
Because of this, the monster is often associated with the spell, which it retained for its first reappearance in the main series in Dragon Quest VIII and a few of the spin-offs such as Dragon Quest Builders. This monster is also often associated with the sea due to appearing on the ocean in Dragon Quest III. They often possess healing magic, as well.

Etymology
Hades is the name of the afterlife in ancient Greek mythology. Despite modern depictions showing otherwise, it was not a place of suffering and most humans settled their after death. The real hell in Greek myth was Tartarus, where the the wicked were sent to suffer along with the Titans.
