The Foo dog is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first introduced in Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen.

Characteristics

Foo dogs are large Beasts that are a cross between lions and rabid dogs with silvery white fur, a golden mane and tail and gold tufts of hair on its legs and paws. It has glowing yellow eyes and drool trailing from its fang-lined mouth. In the Monsters spinoff games, the foo dogs are part of the Material family as a reference to the guardian lion dog statues they are based on.
