The staff of strife is a weapon that appears exclusively in Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation, and casts Bounce when used as an item in battle. The staff has a long, dark blue handle and is topped with a sky blue mirror-like crystal surrounded by white clouds. The end of the staff is covered by the same design of white clouds.
Appearances
Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation
The staff of strife has an Attack bonus of +33, can be equipped by Mages, Priests, and Sages, and can be sold for 5,250 gold coins. It has a 1⁄128 chance of being dropped by hocus-pokers, which is the only way to acquire one in the original NES version of the game. In remake versions of the game, one can be found in the Cloudsgate Citadel, as well as from the third Treasures n' Trapdoors track near the Castle of the Dragon Queen as a random pickup from a tile.
