Knuckle Sandwich inflicts double damage, but has a chance to miss outright. Carver obtains this ability during a story even in Murdaw's Keep.. Other characters can learn this ability by advancing to rank 5 of the Martial Artist vocation.

Knuckle Sandwich is a fisticuffs technique that the Hero, Yangus, and Angelo can learn. It requires 12 skill points by Yangus, 24 skill points by the Hero, and 35 skill points by Angelo. Slightly weaker than before--damage is +50% instead of double.
Dragon Quest IX
This ability is learned with 25 skill points invested into Fisticuffs skill. Damage is base attack + 50%, with no additional chance to miss. Costs 2 MP to use.
