Machine Family (Japanese Katakana: マシン Romanji:Mashin) refers to monsters in Dragon Quest series that have mechanical bodies, ranging from full-on robots such as the Killing machines to automated slot machines such as the Penny pinchers. Effective skills and weapons

The aptly named Can Opener technique will deal significantly high damage to machines in every game it appears in, and the Giant wrench, Handrills, & Hammer handrills will deal an extra 20% damage.

  • the Metal Slash skill will deal 150% damage to machine family monsters in all versions of the sixth game, but not in any other title that features the ability.
