When the women of Strathbaile explain that their children have disappeared and beg for help, the King dispatches all of his soldiers to look for the youths. Rganar McRyan is also deployed, and uncovers the greater mystery behind the disappearances at the [[Loch Tur]] west of Strathbaile.
 
The King keeps the taxes down, much to the benefit and approval of his citizens, but this also means that his soldiers are stuck with the bare minimum gear and must purchase better armaments on their own. Burland is a country in Dragon Quest IV. Ragnar's home, it is located in the northerly reaches of the main continent, and is the setting of Chapter 1 of the game.
