The shield they can form is almost as tall as themselves, bearing a spiked grey demonic face with evil red eyes on it. They can use their shields to make themselves impervious to almost all damage, breathe out ice-cold breath from its mouth, or put an opponent to sleep with its eyes. According to its bestiary description in ''X'', the testudogre's shield bears the power of hell and has been passed down from generation to generation.
