The '''Princess's robe''' is a robe in the series. It is a highly-protective gown for women originally designed to protect against [[breath attack]]s, though in later games it has shifted to reduce damage taken from spells instead.

The '''princess's robe''', also known as the '''princess robe''' or '''princess dress''', is a recurring garment in the ''[[Dragon Quest (series)|Dragon Quest]]'' series. This regal gown for women was designed to protect against breath damage in its debut, but has since shifted focus to magical resistance.
==Design==
The original design for the princess's robe is a white, floor-length dress with ornate gold designs, long ribbons, and red jewels that decorate the bodice and skirt, giving it an appearance similar to a wedding dress. This design can be seen in the Official Guide Books for the Super Famicom versions of ''Dragon Quest V'' and ''Dragon Quest VI''. It was also brought back in ''Dragon Quest Walk'' for a special banner.

Starting with ''Dragon Quest VII'', the robe's design was changed to a pink, floor-length dress with a light gold bodice, white fabric and lace on the shoulders and sleeves, and a teal sash attached to a pair of pink cuffs. The bodice is decorated with a pair of gold crosses and jewels. This design would be retroactively used in remake versions of the older games.
