In terms of appearance, liquid metal slimes are essentially identical to bubble slimes, but are metallic in color and shine.
In terms of appearance, liquid metal slimes are essentially identical to bubble slimes but are a slick silver in colour and shine indicative of the metal slime family. It is rumoured that the little globs are made out of the precious Orichalcum metal, but this has never been affirmed.

Liquid metal slimes have the standard qualities of metal monsters: high speed, high defense, immunity to essentially all forms of magic and skill, very low HP, very high experience payout, and the unfavorable habit of running away from battle frequently. Although a step up from the metal slime, the liquid metal slime is rarely shown to be competent at fighting, its only enhancements being its HP and the experience it gives when compared to metal slimes.

Due to being encountered (comparatively) more frequently than metal king slimes and only having marginally higher HP but approximately ten times as many experience points than metal slimes, the liquid metal slime is the most popular choice amongst power leveling adventurers.

Though the game of the liquid metal slime's introduction, it does not appear until nearing the game's end, appearing only in Rhone and a few areas with access to it.
* A popular strategy for vanquishing liquid metal slimes is to have a Mage cast Puff! and then a Priest casting Accelerate on the first turn of the encounter, incinerating them automatically on the next turn. For Warriors, the Spiked armour is handy to punish them for attacking directly and having a Falcon blade will give them twice as many chances to attack. The Headsman's axe has a 1th chance to land a critical hit, but also a 1 chance to miss altogether on top of the monster's dodge rate. A Martial Artist of a reasonably high level will have a great critical hit rate to rely upon as well, with the calculation being level/256 with a cap of 25% at Level 64.

Liquid metal slimes appear within the vicinity of Rimuldar, among several with in the dark world of Alefgard dungeons. A popular strategy for vanquishing the slime is to have your Wizard and Priest cast Puff and Accelerate on the first turn of the encounter, incenrating them automaticly on the next turn.
All of the strategies in the older versions of III work in the HD-2D Remake, including the Puff! spell. This spell overrides the liquid metal slimes' normal immunity to Fire damage as a homage to the tried and true grinding method from the late 80's. Do note that Spooky Aura always works on metal slimes but cannot increase spell damage against them: 0 damage multiplied by 1.8 is still 0 damage.

* Liquid metal slimes are commonly found in the Royal Crypt southwest of Endor by sea. They can occasionally drop Happy hats or Torneko can steal one at random. It is best to use the Sands of time item as they can run away and it may take many tries before Torneko successfully steals a Happy hat at random.

Liquid metal slimes appeared from the beginning of the game, dropping 20,100 experience when defeated. As always, their metallic bodies mean that they take almost no damage and they are quick to flee from battle. They can cast Boom on characters. There is also a rare item known as the Liquid metal coin that allows players to encounter liquid metal slimes when used in the Magic Labyrinth.

Liquid metal slimes can first be encountered in Trodain Castle, though their appearances there are very rare and only indicated by the hunter mechs in the area.  They also appear in most places accessible by flight, most commonly at nighttime.

Liquid Metal Slimes appear as rank C members of the Slime family and can be fought on Palaish Isle within Madame Rummy's Metal Menagerie. They can also be fought inside Tartarus, the final dungeon, before and after beating the game, though the player won't be able to see them on the overworld until after the game has been completed. Synthesizing two Metal Slimes together will result in a Liquid Metal Slime.

Liquid metal slimes appear, as of yet, exclusively as enemies in various stages where they can be defeated for high amounts of experience. They can cast Sizz or will waste their turns doing nothing and eventually flee after enough turns have passed if they aren't defeated first. Liquid metal slimes drop more experience than a Metal slime, but less than a Metal Healie.

The Liquid metal slime is a monster in the series.

Characteristics[edit | edit source]

In terms of appearance, liquid metal slimes are essentially identical to bubble slimes but are a slick silver in colour and shine indicative of the metal slime family. It is rumoured that the little globs are made out of the precious Orichalcum metal, but this has never been affirmed.

Liquid metal slimes have the standard qualities of metal monsters: high Agility, high Defence, immunity to essentially all forms of magic, skills, and status ailments, very low HP, very high experience payout, and the unfavourable habit of running away from battle frequently.

 • A popular strategy for vanquishing liquid metal slimes is to have a Mage cast Puff! and then a Priest casting Accelerate on the first turn of the encounter, incinerating them automatically on the next turn. For Warriors, the Spiked armour is handy to punish them for attacking directly and having a Falcon blade will give them twice as many chances to attack. The Headsman's axe has a 18th chance to land a critical hit, but also a 18 chance to miss altogether on top of the monster's dodge rate. A Martial Artist of a reasonably high level will have a great critical hit rate to rely upon as well, with the calculation being level/256 with a cap of 25% at Level 64.

 • Liquid metal slimes are commonly found in the Royal Crypt southwest of Endor by sea. They can occasionally drop Happy hats or Torneko can steal one at random. It is best to use the Sands of time item as they can run away and it may take many tries before Torneko successfully steals a Happy hat at random.

 • Liquid metal slimes can be encountered shortly after the player obtains a ship. Though they remain an excellent source of Experience points, they also have a habit of appearing alongside troublesome monsters such as hoodlums and hocus chimaeras. Exceptionally lucky and/or vigilant players may recruit a defeated liquid metal slime as an ally, one of the most powerful monster companions.

*Liquid metal slimes can first be encountered in Castle Trodain, though their appearances there are very rare and only indicated by the Hunter mechs in the area. They also appear in most places accessible only by flight, most commonly at nighttime. In particular, the island behind Maella Abbey is a frequent haunt and an excellent place for power leveling.

 • Defeating a liquid metal slime with the skill Bagsy Last while wearing a Tortoise shell is the objective of Quest #82: To Shell and Back.
 • There are several grotto maps with floors where only liquid metal slimes can be encountered.

Dragon Quest X [edit | edit source]

Liquid metal slimes appeared from the beginning of the game, dropping 20,100 experience when defeated. As always, their metallic bodies mean that they take almost no damage and they are quick to flee from battle. They can cast Boom on characters. There is also a rare item known as the Liquid metal coin that allows players to encounter liquid metal slimes when used in the Magic Labyrinth.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age[edit | edit source]

Liquid metal slimes, along with other members of the metal slime family in this game, only appears when fighting other monsters. Additionally, depending on the party's average level scale, the Pep Power Electro Light may replace enemies fought in a normal battle with Liquid metal slimes or their vicious versions.

Dragon Quest Tact[edit | edit source]

Liquid metal slimes appear, as of yet, exclusively as enemies in various stages where they can be defeated for high amounts of experience. They can cast Sizz or will waste their turns doing nothing and eventually flee after enough turns have passed if they aren't defeated first. Liquid metal slimes drop more experience than a Metal slime, but less than a Metal Healie.
