The Djinn genie is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series, first appearing in Dragon Quest VII. It is a green-skinned genie riding atop a pink cloud that is summoned by a magic lantern.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
Gruesome green-skinned spirits that fly into fights on a poisonous pink cloud, ready to slice their opponents into ribbons by calling upon razor-sharp winds and casting the wicked Kaswoosh spell. They also use the awesome power of the air for protection, providing a barrier against spells with Backdraft. Their tempestuous nature makes them one of the few monsters completely immune to Zap spells. When all else fails, the genies will slash with the knives held in their sashes and use their considerable size to slam into multiple enemies. The genies are said to invite disaster and are born out of raging storms. When they returned in X, their wind magic became more powerful and they even gained the ability to call upon thunderstorms, as well.
