The Vis mager is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series that was introduced in the original Dragon Quest. It is a high-ranking sorcerer in the Dragonlord's armies.

The vis mager first appeared as a common monster during the limited Dragon Quest I event held between September 19th, 2019 and October 24th, 2019. It can also be scouted as a recruitable monster.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

Vis mager is a combination of vis major, a Latin term which means an overwhelming, unexpected, and unpreventable event usually caused by a natural disaster and mage, a term for a spellcaster.
