Appears in: Dragon Quest VII

The Slime is a beginner monster vocation in Dragon Quest VII.

Description[edit | edit source]

The iconic blue slime is the series mascot and is known for its onion/droplet shape, round eyes, and goofy, toothless smile. The vocation gives a small boost in Agility, but suffers serious penalties in all other attributes.

Monster Heart[edit | edit source]

A character can become a Slime by carrying a heart in their inventory and go to Alltrades Abbey to change their vocation. A Slime heart can be found in a treasure chest in Highendreigh Tower in the present, can be won as a prize from the Lucky Panel at the Casino in Pilgrim's Rest in the present, or by defeating slimes in battle if they are the last monster defeated.

Slimes have a 18 chance of dropping their heart the first time, dropping down to 164 from the second onward. Monster hearts will only drop after the player has acquired the Monster munchies.

  • In the Nintendo 3DS version, it is easier to acquire a Slime heart by playing through the Slimetree Forest Traveller's Tablet or creating a custom tablet with a Slime as the boss.
