The Skeleton squire is an Undead monster and boss that appears exclusively in Dragon Quest VII.
Characteristics[edit | edit source]
Skeleton squires are spooky undead nobles riding atop of mad, manic hellish horses. They carry a silver lance that they use to stab at foes and a sparkly silver shield to match. They wear an overly extravagant plumed hat on top of their powdered wig to hide their boney bald heads and wear glorious green cloaks with bright orange boots and bracers. Their sturdy steeds are brown with preposterous purple manes and are capable of breathing out blasts of ice-cold air. Despite their similarities in appearance to Grim riders, they are distinct and dangerous monsters with subtle differences.
Appearances[edit | edit source]
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past[edit | edit source]
The party fights a boss version of the Skeleton squire in Al-Balad. It speaks using bone-related puns and will attack the party while exploring the Temple Palace. Hadid will help out as a temporary party member, but he often wastes his turn assessing the situation. The skeleton should cause no trouble for a moderately leveled party.
Normal skeleton squires can be encountered after the Demon King's resurrection.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
In the PSX version of Dragon Quest VII, the BoneRider has a Quick Joke, "It's just BoneRider," a reference to a certain sexual act.
