The toolbench is located in [[Rosehill]] in the same multi-purpose building that Monty uses to run the village's bank, item shop, and info hub. here Monty is able to take five accessories as raw materials in order to craft an enhanced "+" version of one of those components. These modified accouterments can add extra [[List of traits in Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince|traits]], enhance the stat-boosts they grant, or add boosts to an additional stat on top of the base's parameters. The process is seemingly random ins electing which of the five accessories gets refined and there is a chance for Monty to fail altogether and lose four of the materials in the process, but observant players discovered the secret to deciding which accessory will be selected.
