'''Morcant''' (ウラノス, ''Uranosu'') is an important character in {{DQ11}}. He is a powerful sorcerer and the best friend of [[Erdwin]], the Luminary of Legend, being one of his traveling companions that set out with him to defeat the [[Calasmos|Dark One]] long ago.

==Appearance and Character==
Morcant is a tall and thin middle-aged man with light skin, blue eyes, and long, light blue hair which reaches past his shoulders. He also has a bushy mustache and wears red studs as earrings. He wears a green wizard's robe with gold lining and various gold symbols near the hem, a pointed green wizard's hat with a red gemstone in the front, a purple sash around his waist, a purple knee-length cape tied around his neck, and tan trousers tucked into pointed leather shoes.

==Etymology==
Morcant's Japanese name is Uranus or Ouranos. In Greek mythology, Uranus is a primordial deity and the personification of the sky. He was the son and husband of Gaia, the Earth Mother, and the parents of the first generation of Titans, making him the ancestor of most of the Greek gods.
