Wind Sickles is a recurring ability in the DQSeries. When used, the performer strikes a single enemy with a wave of Ki-infused wind that ignores Defence. ==Appearances== ===DQ3HD=== Wind Sickles was retroactively added to the 2024 remake, where it's learned by Martial Artists at level 17 if their wisdom exceeds 37. It deals 40~60 Wind damage to one foe and costs 5 MP. ===DQ4=== In remakes of the game, Wind Sickles can be used exclusively by high djinks. It deals 67~90 damage to a single character. ===DQ6=== Wind Sickles deals Woosh-element damage calculated as ((Level x 3 +10)+/-15%), capping at level 57. It is obtained by advancing to rank 3 of the Martial Artist vocation. It is used by the enemies giant moth, cloud surfer, low djinks, mythsteed, mechalomaniac, Second Test, Dhuran, and Nokturnus. ===DQ7=== Wind Sickles functions identically as it did in the previous game, however it is learned by mastering the Martial Artist vocation. It can be used by the enemies hackrobat, vaipur, Wyatt, high djinks, djinn genie, cumulus vex, the Wind Spirit, Orgodemir's first form during Disc 1, his second form during Disc 2, and The Almighty. ===DQ8=== Yangus can use Wind Sickles as a scythe technique after allocating 32 skill points into the associated skill. Damage is calculated in the same method as in VI. On the enemy side, Wind Sickles can be used by cockateers, dark turkeys, diemon, dieablo, foul anchors, jumping jackals, Dhoulmagus's clones in his first form, and Marcello. The Infamous Monsters Bladewolf and Foul fowl can use it as well. ===DQ9=== This ability is learned with 12 skill points invested into Fisticuffs skill. In this installment, Wind Sickles is treated as a normal attack that deals an extra 50% of damage to Elemental-family MFamiliess. All other MFamilies families receive no bonus damage. ===DQ10=== Wind Sickles appears as an enemy-only skill that is used exclusively by cyclown and its malicious variant. ===DQM=== Called WindBeast in this game, it requires the MFamilies to reach level 13 with 74 HP, 60 attack and 84 agility. It grows into Vacuum when the MFamilies reaches level 19 with 112 HP, 114 Attack and 132 Agility. It is naturally learned by the Durran, giantMoth, lizardFly, nitewhip, pteranod and wingSlime. ===DQM2=== The requirements to learn WindBeast are unchanged. It is naturally learned by the aquadon, emyu, garudian, Genosidoh and madgoose. It is no longer naturally learned by the lizardFly. ===DQMJ2=== Wind Sickles can be learned from: *Bird Brain (8 points) *Dragon Lore (64 points) *Stormsgate Citadel (6 points) *Wind Blower (35 points) *Wonder Construction (52 points) ===DQM3D=== Stub ===DQM23D=== Stub ===DQMJ3=== Stub ===DQM3=== Wind Sickles costs 4 MP and deals 30~50 damage to one enemy. It is learned through the Blowy Slasher, Blusterer, Good Knight, Swirling Dervish, Super Naturalist, and Woosh Afficionado talents. ===DQTact=== Wind Sickles is known naturally by Low djinks at level 1 and can be learned by Carnivine, Great sabrecub, Hawk man, and Spiked hare at level 16. It costs 7 MP to use and inflicts minor Woosh-type martial damage to all enemies in a radius of 1 around the user. It can also be taught to any unit by using an ability scroll. ==Etymology== In the original Japanese games, Wind Sickles is named after the kamaitachi, a yΕkai, or supernatural creature, from Japanese mythology. It is a mischievous creature, sometimes interpreted as a weasel, that rides on dust devils and is known to cut people with their sickle-like nails. The kamaitachi make frequent appearances in Japanese media, including anime, manga, and video games, and they often possess wind manipulation abilities. It also shares a name with the recurring Cyclown monster. clear ==Related skills== *Secret Wind Sickles *Thin Air *Wind Shear DQSkills
