(DQB2) }} The war hammer is a recurring weapon in the DQSeries. Like other hammers in the series, it is usually reserved for only the most physically powerful members of the party, such as Warriors. It is a mid-level weapon with no special effects aside from its high attack. Later games in the series added an upgrade in the form of the Über war hammer. ==Characteristics== The design of the war hammer has not changed much throughout the series. It has a large, solid head roughly in the shape of an axe, flanked by a large spike on either side and another spike at the top. Both sides of the head are also decorated with rivets. In earlier games, the head and the handle were made out of dark grey metal and most of the handle had a grip. Starting with VI, the side of the hammer's head was colored dark purple, while majority of the hammer was made out of a lighter silver metal and the grip was only located near the base of the handle. The design that appears exclusively in VIII made the war hammer short enough to be wielded in a single hand and is very similar to that game's version of the sledgehammer. Most of the hammer is made out of indigo metal and it has a grey grip flanked by yellow edges. The hammer's head is grooved and is topped with a tall spike. Smaller yellow spikes surround the head, as well. ==Appearances== ===DQ3=== The ar hammer was added in the 1996 remake and has an Attack bonus of +70, and can only be equipped by Warriors. It can be purchased in Kol and the Immigrant Town for 9,500 gold coins and sold for 7,150 gold coins. ===DQ3HD=== ===DQ5=== The war hammer has an Attack bonus of +60, and can be equipped by Sancho and Debora Briscoletti, along with monsters such as the brownie. It can be purchased for 6,500 gold coins at Lofty peak. ===DQ6=== The war hammer has an Attack bonus of +64, a Style bonus of +19, and can be equipped by Amos, Carver, Lizzie, and Terry. It can be purchased for 12,000 gold coins at Mt. Snowhere. ===DQ7=== The war hammer has an Attack bonus of +64 and a Style bonus of +19. It can be equipped by The Hero 7, Kiefer, and Aishe. It can be purchased for 12,000 gold coins from Nottagen, Aeolus Vale, and the eighth level of the The Haven in the original Sony PlayStation version and can be sold for 6,000. War hammers can also be won as a prize from the Lucky Panel at the Casino. This makes it one of the strongest weapons the party can acquire as early as the events at Alltrades Abbey 7. ===DQ8=== The war hammer has an Attack bonus of +51 and can be equipped by Yangus, as well as Morrie in the Nintendo 3DS Version. It can be purchased from Argonia for 6,700 gold coins as soon as the bazaar starts and sold for 3,350 gold coins. It can be upgraded into the Über war hammer when combined with a mighty armlet in the Alchemy Pot. ===DQ9=== Upgrades into the Über war hammer when combined with a mighty armlet. ===DQ10=== Stub ===DQMJ=== Stub ===DQMJ2=== Stub ===DQB=== Increases Attack by +37, and can be forged by combining two steel ingots and three scorpion horns at a furnace. ===DQB2=== The war hammer increases the Builder's Attack by +23, it can be crafted with 3 steel ingots at an anvil.
