==Characteristics==
A simple whip that consists of a long, thorn-covered vine with a braided leather handle. In the original Japanese, the thorn whip is actually two different weapons, {{translation|Thorn whip|とげのむち|Toge no muchi}} and {{translation|Thorny shrub/thorn whip|いばらのムチ|Ibara no muchi}}, but they are treated as the same weapon in modern English releases.
*The design from ''Dragon Quest VII'' features a segmented lash made of bramble thorns and a metal handle with a blue grip.
*The thorn whip introduced in ''Dragon Quest VIII'' has a metal arrowhead-like tip attached at the end of the lash similar to other redesigned whips in this game.
