The terror tabby is a recurring MFamilies in the DQSeries, first appearing in Dragon Quest VIII. It is a lethargic cat capable of putting entire parties of adventurers to Sleep with their abilities. ==Characteristics== Terror tabbies are rotund cats with orange fur and black stripes all over their bodies. They have a tuft of red fur on top of their heads and a long, lolling tongue that trails out of their mouths. Like their feline cousins, the terror tabbies are easygoing MFamiliess with a tendency to completely space out in the middle of battle by cleaning themselves or rolling around on the ground. Unprepared adventurers can suddenly be sent to dream land with the terror tabby's hypnotic attacks or their Kasnooze spell. In later appearances, the tabbies also gained the ability to cast fire magic against their enemies. ==Appearances== ===DQ8=== {{DQ8Enemy |name=Terror tabby |kanji=ベロニャーゴ |romanji=Beronyāgo |sprite= |hp=56 |mp=10 |exp=67 |gold=12 |attack=65 |defense=63 |agility=52 |bestiaryNumber=#074 |family=Beast |description=A feline MFamilies that spends its days lazing around. They have also gained the ability to use Tongue Lashing and cast Frizzle. ===DQH2=== {{DQH2Enemy |name=Terror tabby |kanji=ベロニャーゴ |romaji=Beronyāgo |listNumber=#048 |fieldNotes=Feline fiends who can fall asleep any time, anywhere, but always remain alert to approaching enemies. It can be scouted in Chapter 2, Episode 2: To the Seat of the Nemesis at any difficulty and can participate in Illusia's Battle Road as a party member. Recruiting the terror tabby a total of 20 times is one of the objectives of the Illusia's Sketchbook sidequest. ==Etymology== *The Japanese name appears to a portmanteau of bero (ベロ), the Japanese word for tongue, and Goronyaago (ゴロニャーゴ), a children's television program in Japan featuring a cat character. ==Gallery==
<gallery> DQX Beronyago.jpg|A Terror tabby in X.
