==Characteristics==
The leather armour consists of a simple breastplate and [[Wiktionary:fauld|faulds]] made out of brown leather held on the body with belts. In some games, it is worn over a long-sleeved tunic. This lightweight armour provides a decent amount of protection early in the game and can even be equipped by characters and vocations who cannot wear heavier armour. In the NES and GBC versions of ''Dragon Quest'', the [[leather suit]] was translated as leather armor. In some games such as ''X'' and ''Stars'', the [[leather trousers]] were introduced as a legwear counterpart.
