The '''knightshade'''  is a recurring monster in the {{DQSeries}}. Introduced in ''[[Dragon Quest VII]]'', it is a white shadow in the shape of a knight.

While the knightshade was completely white in its initial appearance, it was later shaded a darker grey color, perhaps to make it stand out more in brighter locations.

==Characteristics==
Massive menacing [[Undead family|shadows]] that lurk where there is no light, ready to strike and slash with their sharp sword and sturdy shield. They flicker in and out of existence entirely, making them harder to hit back against. They move as quickly as shadows, slicing all enemies with a single diving attack, before firing off '''Fizzle''' spells to stop adversaries breaking through their high defense with blistering magic.
