Kaclang is a spell which renders the recipient invulnerable, but also unable to act. It was introduced in Dragon Quest III at first exclusive to the Hero V class. Affects the whole party. Some MFamiliess also have the Kaclang spell. Seemingly useless at first glance, the spell is actually quite handy to trick an enemy into wasting all their MP, as well as scouting for their abilities. ==Appearances== ===DQ3=== Kaclang is learned by the Hero 3 at level 12. It has the highest action priority in the game, being cast before all other actions. ===DQ3HD=== Kaclang is learned at level 12 by the Hero if his or her wisdom exceeds 32 points. Kaclang costs 6 MP and lasts for 3 turns, and also has the highest action priority out of all the spells and skills in the game. ===DQ4=== Kaclang is learned by Hero 4 at level 21. Peepers can use it on themselves. ===DQ5=== Kaclang is only used by the enemies wyrtoise and hippopotamiss. ===DQ6=== In VI DS, Kaclang is learned by the recruitable liquid metal slime Mercury at level 3, when a Luminary V reaches rank 2, when a Hero V reaches rank 1, and upon reaching rank 2 of the Liquid Metal Slime vocation. It can be used by Arrghgoyles. ===DQ7=== Kaclang is learned by advancing to rank 3 of the Luminary V, rank 2 of the Hero V vocation, rank 4 of the Drake slime, and rank 1 of the Platinum king jewel vocations. It costs 2 MP to cast. In the remake, it can be learned by advancing to rank 1 of the Hero and Druid vocations. It can be cast by rotten eggs as enemies. ===DQ11=== The Luminary will learn Kaclang after purchasing the spell for 12 points in the Luminary section of his character builder. The spell costs 8 MP to cast but now only targets a single ally, with the effect lasting for 2~4 turns. ===DQM=== Called Ironize in this game, it requires the MFamilies to reach level 15 with 62 MP and 58 Intelligence. It is naturally learned by the darkcrab, evilbeast, eyeball, metalking, tortragon and whipbird. ===DQM2=== Ironize now requires 87 Intelligence to learn. It is naturally learned by the wonderegg. It is no longer naturally learned by the eyeball ===DQTact=== Kaclang can be learned by Hero 3, Erdrick through his Character Builder and costs 107 MP to cast. It has a range of up to two squares away from him and can also be self-cast. It fully protects the target from any damage they may receive until the start of their next turn. Although it can only be cast one time per battle. Upgrading the spell reduces the amount of MP it costs to cast. ===Super Smash Bros. Ultimate=== Kaclang is randomly available through the Hero Smash's Down-B move, Command Selection. It renders the Hero Smash immune to all damage and knockback, but also means he will be instantly slain by Metal Slash. Additionally, casting the spell while in the air will cause the Hero Smash to inflict 15% damage on anyone he falls upon. ==In Other Languages== ==Battle Visuals==

==Gallery==
<gallery> DQ3 Spell Kaclang.png|III Famicom art.
