The armour is grey with gold edges and the pieces are attached with a series of brown leather belts. In character art, the iron armour often includes a pair of sabatons made out of iron, as well. Due to its weight, it is usually reserved for characters who are physically stronger. It is the standard equipment of castle guards. The armour has appeared in every main entry in the series except for Dragon Quest II. In Dragon Quest IX, a blue long-sleeved shirt is worn underneath the armour. ==Appearances== ===DQ=== ===DQIHD=== ===DQIIHD=== ===DQ3=== The Iron armour has a Defence bonus of +25 and can be equipped by the Hero 3, Warriors, and Merchants.
