The Fortune Finder is one of the most important abilities available to the player, as using it allows them to get an understanding of how close a buried treasure might be. It is the personal [[List of fortes in Dragon Quest Treasures|forte]] of the children, so to speak, and is activated by holding the L button and pressing B. When used, a ghostly blue compass with a golden arrow will appear under the child and tilt towards the nearest treasure. The exact range is currently unknown, and it is also unknown if the [[Treasure Forecast]] influences the compass' range.

As all humans who venture into Draconia are blessed with the ability to sense treasure by the spirit of [[Madra and Padra|Madra]] if they demonstrate courageousness, Erik and Mia being able to use Fortune Finder is a sign of approval from the deceased dragon.
