The '''Crocodog''' is a recurring {{MFamilies}} in the {{DQSeries}}, first appearing in {{Dragon Quest VIII}}. It is an unusual monster that is a hybrid between a crocodile and a dog.

==Characteristics==
Crocodogs are bizarre and powerful monsters that float about as if swimming through midair. As their name implies, they are a cross between crocodiles and [[Beast family|dog]]s, as well as having some draconic features. They have reddish-brown scales, pale yellow undersides, and have a shaggy purple mane around their necks that runs down their backs. Their canine features consist of the noses at the end of their long snouts and their legs. The crocodogs make use of their immense size by slamming their entire bodies down on their opponents. Like its cousins, the crocodog was reclassified as a {{Dragon}} when it returned to both {{X}} and {{Joker 3}}.

Crocodog began appearing in Version 5.1 of the game, this time being made {{MFamilies}}s of the [[Dragon family]]. Once again, they are capable of unleashing a powerful [[bellyflop]] attack and wasting their turns by grinning maliciously, as well as being able to swing their tails around at surrounding enemies.

Crocodog appears as an A-rank {{MFamilies}} of the [[Dragon family]] as part of the limited ''True Dragon Quest X'' event alongside [[Daviyaga|Daviyaga the Dark Deity]] on his banner. It can participate in [[Estelle]]'s Battle Road as a party member. Additonally, before the limited ''True Dragon Quest X'' event happened, during the story of the ''1-Year Wrap Party post-anniversary event'' a [[Heligator]] told [[Majellan]] to save his "Crocodog tears" for someone else when the party went through the territory of the Heligators.
