It had a short handle with a leather strap at the end. The design featured in ''VIII'' is a double bit axe short enough to be wielded in one hand and has red cloth wrapped around the handle. The battle axe featured in ''IX'' has a longer handle, making it closer in appearance to a [[Wikipedia:Poleaxe|poleaxe]].
