It is a salamander swordsman that specialises in using fire-based techniques. ==Characteristics== Axolhotls are anthropomorphic salamander warriors with bright orange skin and green scattered on their external gills, limbs, and tails. They wear a black tabards and helmets, both decorated with gold, and they wield golden swords and shields. In battle, they can breathe out fiery breath and enchant their swords with fire, as well as being able to protect their allies with their shields. When encountered in the field, axolhotls will persistently pursue any adventurers they spot, making it difficult to escape from them. ==Appearances== ===DQ9=== ===DQTact=== Axolhotl appears as an A-rank monster of the Nature family as part of the Dragon Quest IX event, appearing on both Barbarus and Greygnarl's banners.
