Phantom swordsman appears as a B-rank monster of the [[Undead family]] as part of the ''Dragon Quest VIII'' event. It can be recruited from the [[Dark Ruins]] on B4, 9, and 15, eventually becoming recruitable in Part 3 of the main storyline from Chapter 8, Episode 4: Further and Further... The phantom swordsman can participate in [[Yangus]] and [[Saber|Purrcy]]'s Battle Roads as a party member.
