During the party's first visit to [[Lonalulu]], they offer to help out the villagers by defeating a Tentacular that has been terrorising the village. If the player talks to the cannon lady in Lonalulu, she tells them that Tentaculars hate loud noises and offers to lend the party her kanono cannon. The party sails out to sea where they encounter the sailors from Lonalulu, who try to warn them about the rampaging squid. [[Sylvando]] will fire the cannon at the Tentacular, which will cause it and its tentacles to be confused at the beginning of battle and reduces their {{Attack}} and {{Defence}}.

In the 2D modes of the Nintendo 3DS and ''Definitive Edition'', the Tentacular is instead aided by a pair of [[Squid kid|Squid kids]] in battle and will call for help if they are defeated instead of regenerating its tentacles.
