*The character was given a Hindu name in the [[Plus Alpha]] localization of ''IV'' to underline his connection to the Mahabala sisters. ''Oojam'' is a name originating in the Telugu language of southeastern India that means "Enthusiasm", and expresses his desire to aid the sisters in avenging his teacher. 
*In the {{NES}} version, Oojam uses his strength to break open locked doors, but in the [[Nintendo DS]] version he picks the lock instead. Considering his strength stat is only 40 in most versions of the game, this change was likely implemented to avoid inconsistencies with the much stronger party members.
