Tongue Lashing is learned by [[Spot]] at level 4. Other characters can learn it by advancing to rank 3 of the [[Gadabout]] vocation. 

The {{MFamilies}} [[Lips]] also made their first appearance in this game, with this {{MFamilies}} being arguably the most associated with this ability due to their characteristically large tongue and their early appearance [[Mountain Pass (Dragon Quest VI)|in the very first dungeon]] of this game, where their usage of this ability can be a real nuisance, sometimes even a fatal one, due to the lack of {{Party 6}} members.
