Platinum ore can be picked up from sparkly spots in [[the Champs Sauvage]], [[the Eerie Eyrie]], the [[Sniflheim Region]], [[the Snærfelt]]m [[the Hekswood]], [[the Arborian Highlands]], [[Nautica]], the [[Heliodorian Foothills]], the [[Heliodor Sewers]], and the [[Fortress of Fear]] during the second act. Chunks of platinum ore can be received as a reward for receiving first place in the Gold Cup of [[Gallopolis]]'s horse race or given for participating in the Platinum Cup. It can be purchased for 800 {{Gold}} from the roving emporium in [[the Emerald Coast]] and the forge item shop in [[Hotto]] during the second act only, as well as the [[Havens Above]] during the postgame. Platinum ore can also be dropped by [[Runny eggsoskeleton]]s and [[Killing machine]]s, along with their vicious and malicious counterparts respectively. It can be sold for 200 {{Gold}}.
