===Water skills===
Water did not exist as a distinct element until the addition of the [[Splish]] family of spells in ''[[Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3]]'', which would remain exclusive to that game until the Splish line reappeared in ''[[Dragon Quest Treasures]]''. Prior to this most water-themed skills would use the ice element for damage calculation, with a small handful using wind instead. {{Water}} has not appeared as a distinct element in any mainline {{Main Series}} game.
