In the remakes of {{DQ4|nolink}} starting from the [[Playstation]] version, a medislime named ''Mary Curey'' (a pun on the name [[wikipedia:Marie Curie|Marie Curie]]) can be first found in [[Strathbaile]] after the party meets the [[Zenith Dragon]] ([[Nintendo DS]] version) or after [[Estark]] is defeated ([[Cell phone]] version). Although a friendly monster, she was captured and thrown in the town's jail due to her appearance frightening the locals. The party can free then free her using the [[Ultimate Key]] (much to the shock of the guard near her cell) and the she can be asked to move in to [[Pioneer Town]], where she is present in the fourth and final stage of the town. In the former, she can be found in the town's cellar where she has befriended the frog (who is actually the cursed sultan of the kingdom that disappeared after he was cursed) that constantly made his appearance throughout the various stages of Pioneer Town. In the latter, she now resides in the town's, now a castle, well where she states that she misses the frog.

''Mary Curey'''s name can be mentioned by [[Healie]] in Chapter 1 after interacting with certain characters in [[Burland]] then using [[Party Chat]] while he is in the party, mentioning on how he is friends with [[Curie|Guru Curu]] and Mary Curey and how he has not seen them in a while.
