It is initially found inside a building at [[Mt. Krakatroda]]. After defeating "Pot Belly" the [[Jargon]], who was trying to stealing it, [[Rocket]] manages to "rescue" the pot and bring it back to Boingburg in [[Slimenia]]. Since then, it is located on a wagon that is on the east side of [[Ducktor Cid]]'s workshop.

It has the same utility as in ''[[Dragon Quest IX]]'', but slightly different. The only way to do alchemy here is via the available recipes that already are received from the letters that the rescued slimes write, with "Try Your Luck" option not being available. Also, all items to be alchemized only need at most 2 ingredient kinds, compared to 3 max ingredient kinds from ''[[Dragon Quest IX]]''.

This is the only way to get better equipment and ammunition for the [[Schleiman Tank]] that cannot be obtained otherwise. Also, it is usually a potential money supply by making [[Gold bar]]s.
