Zoom is one of the spells that can be used by the {{Hero Smash}} through his Down special, Command Selection. This costs 8 {{MP}} to use, and allows the Hero to quickly fly back to the main platform of the stage, provided he isn't obstructed by a ceiling overhead. Compared to the {{Hero Smash}}'s up-special attack ([[Woosh]], which can be further charged-up to [[Swoosh]] and [[Kaswoosh]]), Zoom provides a greatly increased vertical-recovery distance and a period of invincibility with a much lower {{MP}} cost than [[Kaswoosh]], but has the notable downsides of not damaging opponents, the ascent being followed by a swift and uncontrollable descent with very little horizontal movement, and the inherent unreliability of the Command Selection menu's randomly-chosen options. However, if the {{Hero Smash}} is close to the blast line, the chance of Zoom appearing in the command list is tripled.
