Slightly stronger versions of king kelps are faced at sea as soon as the ship is acquired. They are able to summon squid kids in battle instead of khalamari kids. This version also appears on land after the fall of the Black Citadel.

King kelps began appearing in Version 2.0 of the game. They are still able to perform a [[Silly Song]] and heal themselves and allies by casting [[Midheal]], but this time around, they call upon other king kelps for backup. In Version 5.1 of the game, Vicious king kelps started to appear, as well.

He will join the party in Chapter 1, Episode 1 of the event quests and he can be fully awakened by completing the quest at any difficulty.
